Description

* The inspiration of the artwork: I met on Halloween 2008 Marie Yokota from Japan,. who showed me what a true friend is. She became one of my best friends over the few months she lived with us, she had to return home to Japan in may 2009. She inspired me to be a better person and to share my art with the world. I miss her companionship and inspirational talks. This is a small remembrance of her from me to everyone! She is the reason I am here and sharing my art today, before her it sat hidden away in storage and without her it would very much still be there.
*description of the artwork: the pencil details behind her represent the chaos of the world around us all and how we each take part in shaping it, her hand holds a ball of crystal to represent focus and the other hand transforms to branches showing her hand in life. She walks among the clouds being an inspiration to others dreams uplifting their spirits. the outfit she wears is close to the costume she wore when we met <however not quiet so showy>. She is well known in japan as a master flutist which explains the musical notes at her feet and the flute attached at her waste.
* I hope you enjoy my attempt at showing her how she has inspired me to try again, and share myself with the world.

I saw you post this in #Thumbsshare, and it really caught my attention.

Firstly, I have to say I love the colours. They're quite reserved, but work well and there's a nice and subtle amount of variety with the colours. You've used colour well to draw attention to certain areas of the image: the center and the corners. I think that's a good thing to have done because it brings in some space, which is just as important as other parts

I think perhaps some of the anatomy is a little off. Her legs don't look quite right to me, and the face near the top right corner of the image looks a little skewed. Still, when I look at how much detail is in this, I can forgive those small mistakes The detail is really stunning, it must have taken you again to draw all that From the detailed background, my favourite character looking out from it is the cat above the arrow near the bottom right.

the main woman's pose is very good, especially with that outfit. She looks like she's walking out from the clouds, like an important priestess. She also looks kind on her face, but the claws on her right hand show she may strike you if you cross her I definitely feel a character/personality for her from this piece, which I personally find very hard to do in my art. I love being able to look at a piece of artwork and feel a story for the character(s) in it

Fantastic work!
