I was thinking tonight of positive remarks to make in my shout box and just wanted to share the current ones with my watchers... I have been trying hard to keep a positive attitude in a harsh world and these were what has kept me going in some of my darker times so I thought maybe they were worthy of sharing... I apologize for using news instead of what would seem better suited for journals, but those that know me, know i use my journal more as an [add plate] for information instead of an actual journal [I blame those lovely journal skins] but at any rate... here is my small list of things I tell myself to help keep me from going crazy...

1) Don't give up on your dreams, every day you work towards them, puts you one day closer to them becoming real.

2) There is no failure for within each mistake lies a lesson learned which contains far greater value then any masterpiece could hope to give you.

3) Spread the happiness within your heart by treating others as you would wish to be treated...

4) It's NEVER too late to start, might as well do what you can while you can.

5) The only real enemy that exists is the one within your own mind...Believe in others and they will believe in you.

I wish you all the best and hope that the happiness finds you on your way through this world... live your dreams!

Happy "News" Year to everyone... I truly wish everyone all the best the world has to offer in this year as well years to come, I was thinking tonight of how much I wanted to share some positive thoughts I had this evening... So I wrote some of them down in my shout box and decided to share them here as well. To me the words below represent my thoughts on the coming year for myself, but maybe they fit some of you as well... I would love to hear your thoughts on how to positively affect yourself or the world around you... or just your thoughts in general on the upside of things to come... We all have good and bad times and there is no easy answer for anyone, but I like to think by looking to the positive possibilities we can shape not only our own lives but the others around us into a wonderful life worth living.

1 Believe in yourself, and others will believe in you... If you see failure then others will as well. We all start somewhere and can end anywhere we wish as long as we pay close attention to the road in front of us.

2 A closed door on either end of a conversations only leads to confusion and angst for all. Which will in turn lead towards aggression, and pain if not more closed doors.

3 One must be open to the ideals of others for others to be open to ones ideals...

4 acceptance goes both ways...

5 Just do the best you can and love it for what it is when your done... If it isn't a master piece then its a learning experience and still has great value.

6 The world is waiting for you to make it better.

My personal news to come:... hopefully.
Well this year I am starting out with 800 finished artworks and plan on getting my final 200 [totaling 1000] finished pictures done and then I will be trying to get myself published by whatever [fair] means necessary. Hoping to have at least 777 -[the magic number in my head for a good sized art table book] finished pieces accepted by whatever publisher I find. I plan on breaking past my fears with going full fledged public with my life long goals as well. I also will be trying a more positive outlook on life and break past my self imposed barriers reaching out more into the wonderful world around me. I also hope to find a means to better support my "chosen family" as well my nature born family. There are many other things I hope to happen, but I think these sum up some of the more important ones for myself.
This is meant for us all to add our thoughts of what is "new news" for the year to come, There are countless dreams and aspirations in front of us all so please feel free to add yours as well... ALL Positive Comments Welcomed Below!

does one person really need more then one car when there are people walking, does one person really need a 500 dollar dinner when there are people starving, does one person really need a summer home, when there are people out on the street living in a box? does one person need to control another, when we all have minds filled with thoughts?

The fact of the matter is, today is based on greed and acquiring at any cost. It's sad that most people do not seem to realize the cost is paid by the ones on the street starving without a home or a way to get on their feet... the price is paid by all those around you, really there is only so much resources in the world to go around. I understand that some of the wealthy started from nothing and were lucky enough to get past the limitations set in society, but that doesn't mean they were the only ones working hard on their dreams. There are those of us who spent their entire lives working hard on their dreams, only to have them stolen, or ignored.

Look at the wealthiest of people in this world and see what they have, ask yourself do they somehow magically deserve it more then the rest of us? Does it make sense that they would be allowed to acquire more then they could possible use in their life time, while others starve to death and have no means to grow? We are all human beings, yet some are treated as less then nothing while others are worshiped... even though we all have wondrous gifts to offer the world. Is it fair that only the wealthy are allowed to share it?

I ask this of you... IF YOU HAVE ANYTHING EXTRA IN YOUR LIFE, [EVEN IF IT IS JUST TIME OR COMPASSION] TO SHARE IT WITH THOSE WHO NEED IT MOST.

I have always been overall a traditional artist, but in the last year [and few months] I have mixed my traditional with digital. I do not use outside stock or images to create my art work, I simple use digital to color and or combine some of my traditional works together... in the same way a traditionalist artist would cut and paste their work together for layout or color with whatever mediums they had to work with... Yet the traditional "mixed media" category  says as long as it it does NOT contain digital... It saddens me to think that mediums are prejudice like people... If i combine traditional art by digital means or color it, does it mean it is no longer traditional? By that same rule is not everything we see online digital?!? In most cases, it has been scanned in and cropped or re-sized, as well tinted, and or contrasted... for viewing online.

I mean really people, digital is a tool like all other mediums... In many cases it takes as much time, if not more then traditional... I do it because I am too poor to afford 100% traditional mediums... Now i certainly understand how digital is it's own category as well traditional but the point is how much use of one medium changes it into the other medium's category? Lets sat you, scan it in and adjust size maybe clean up the edges or work some tinting in... does this make its digital now? I think the overall feel of the art is 1000 times more important then weather or not you used 'some' digital tools to enhance your traditional work or vis versa. I am just tired of all or nothing labels being put upon art, when art [to me at least] is supposed to be about breaking labels down and seeing things from a different perspectives.

It is simply a matter of mixed media sub labels... I THINK IT ALL COMES DOWN TO PERCENTAGES, IF THE ARTWORK YOU CREATE IS 75% OR MORE TRADITIONAL WITH 25% DIGITAL IT SHOULD BE TRADITIONAL MIXED MEDIA; IF IT IS 75% DIGITAL WITH 25% TRADITIONAL IT SHOULD BE DIGITAL MIXED MEDIA... IF THIS BOTHERS YOU THEN STOP BEING A MEDIUMIST AND EXPAND YOUR HORIZONS. MEDIUMS ARE TOOLS, NOTHING MORE, NOTHING LESS...

Personal Note: I am sorry if this comes out wrong, I am by no means angry at the world, these are just my feelings on this subject and they have grown stronger over the last year... In all honesty, I myself was in dislike with digital art [mainly being my age and just missing the digital age in college (grad 1992)] as well [I didn't know anything about how it worked]. My hope is that labels help complement whatever art is out there and help it be seen, not limit it and stick it in a corner...

[I personally do not use any outside stock or images and work really hard to create the art in my gallery... I can only hope that world understands I am here to share my art and expand it's horizons, and to share a piece of myself with you all. Hopefully I will continue to also find inspirations and connections with others art as well.] Oh and if you find the time, check out my friends and favorite list...
