I read an article earlier today about Google+ and it contained some quotes which I found quite thought provoking. "Could we find ourselves posting in what has become a bubble, sharing work only with people who are predisposed to like it? Is it meaningful if you post a new photo and a circle of your fans tell you how wonderful it is? Does it become a bit like preaching to the converted?" I know this article was in relation to Google+, but I wonder how many of us have became like this at deviantART. I see people claim they are bored with deviantART, or that they don't like how things are here, so the sign up for other communities and networks

We're always trying to improve the deviantART member experience. While many of our site upgrades are taken directly from community feedback, every once in a while we (administrators) need to trust our instincts. For many years, our gut was telling us that submitting content to deviantART was becoming bloated. Not only was it confusing for new deviants, but we found that there was redundancy in the systems as well as the content. We needed a fix. We made a fix. A BRIEF OVERVIEW Over the years, we've been proud to offer the opportunity to volunteer with deviantART. We believe that our volunteers play a crucial role in helping our community develop and grow in positive ways. The Gallery Moderator (previously known as Gallery Director) and Message Network Admin (MN@) teams have become a much loved and appreciated role, with many volunteers proudly detailing their experience in applications to enter into successful careers with companies who all recognise the value of volunteering in such a vibrant and eclectic community.
